On the 11th May OFESAUTO held in its office a very interesting conference about the main aspects of the motor third party liability law and personal injuries of road traffic accidents in Germany. The speakers of the conference were Mr. Rudolf Elvers, General Manager of the German Green Card Office and Guarantee Fund, and Mr. Tibor Pataki, motor legal advisor of the German Insurers Association (GDV).
They explained in a very detailed way the historical legal evolution and the current legal framework in Germany from a general perspective of the Third Party Liability and also from the specific point of view of the treatment of personal injuries, beneficiaries, etc. Especially interesting was the part of the speech dedicated to articulated vehicles and the way Germany shares liability between units in those cases.
We’d like to thanks Mr. Elvers and Mr. Pataki for their presence as speakers. They explained in a very detailed and clear way all the legal/jurisprudential aspects and connected questions – even taking into account their own technical complications. Lastly we’d like to thank the participants for their very active cooperation and interest. More than 30 people from different insurance companies and official institutions of Spain showed a real interest.
Attached you’ll find the presentations done.
