On the 24th June OFESAUTO held in its office a very interesting conference about the main aspects of the motor third party liability law and personal injuries of road traffic accidents in France. The speakers of the conference were Mr. Xavier Legendre, General Manager of the French Bureau (BCF) and Ms. Veronique Couffet, BCF Claims Manager.
They explained in a very detailed way the historical legal evolution and the current legal framework in France from a general perspective of the Third Party Liability and also from the specific point of view of the “Badinter Law”. Especially interesting was the part of the speech dedicated to the differences between “participation” at the accident and “liability”.
We’d like to thanks Mr. Legendre and Ms. Couffet for their presence as speakers. They explained in a very detailed and clear way all the legal/jurisprudential aspects and connected questions – even taking into account their own technical complications. Lastly we’d like to thank the participants for their very active cooperation and interest.
Attached you’ll find the presentations done: French law on compensation for road traffic accidents.
