initiatives of OFESAUTO
OFESAUTO’s Social Initiatives arise from a need to convey our mission to society. This social commitment is made real through the annual call for funding of projects with social aims. The subject matter of the social initiative projects will focus on improving international traffic, road safety, compliance with legislation on Compulsory Insurance, or awareness campaigns about these.
What objectives do we pursue with our social initiatives?
- Promotion of compulsory insurance.
- Improving road safety.
- Protection of victims of motor vehicle traffic accidents.
- Identifying and eliminating fraud and uninsured driving.
- Carrying out studies, research work and training and awareness-raising activities related to the performance of all the above functions.

We believe in the power of human beings to improve their surroundings. We know that there are many social projects worth developing, but their funding can become a problem.
That is why we do our bit so that they can be carried out.
We began our journey in 2020, supporting social initiatives developed by public and private bodies
As a result of our functions, improving road safety and compulsory motor insurance (SOA) are primary objectives for us. This commitment has had an impact on OFESAUTO since 2020.
Where do the financial contributions for our funding come from? In line with Article 10 of Ministerial Order 764/2017, we dedicate our surplus to funding non-profit social projects.
Continuing with this idea of promoting projects that have an impact on our society, isOFESAUTO was born. We have held 5 calls and each year we open them with greater enthusiasm.
Since its creation, we have held five calls that have made it possible to fund 34 social projects, directly and indirectly benefiting more than 30,000 people. In 2025, we have already allocated more than one million euros to selected projects, funded on a non-repayable basis.

isOFESAUTO was created with an idea of continuity. Year after year, we continue to back new social initiatives that, within our field, we can fund on a non-repayable basis.
The registration period for the isOFESAUTO calls opens each year from 15 June to 5 September.

What you need to know to apply for the next isOFESAUTO call
The projects we fund must be affiliated with an organisation whether for-profit or non-profit. However, it is essential that the applicant organisation does not obtain financial gain from implementing the social initiative.
Applications in a personal capacity are not accepted.
Each organisation may submit a maximum of 5 projects.
This year we have up to €300,000 available for funding.
The funding is non-repayable.
Last year, in our 6th call, 6 projects were selected.
Each organisation must submit an audit of accounts.
Our funding is compatible with other grants or funding awarded to the project you submit.
As for the duration, it will be 1 year.
Your organisation may submit the same social project or a new one each year, provided it has not already been selected in previous calls.

OFESAUTO’s social commitment is a reality.
We are OFESAUTO
If you do not already know, OFESAUTO is the Spanish Motor Insurers’ Bureau. We are a non-profit association that brings together all the insurance entities authorised to operate in Spain in the field of third-party liability insurance for motor land vehicles, together with the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros.
Our mission is to assist the international movement of vehicles and to guarantee care for the victims of traffic accidents between vehicles of different nationalities. That is why we handle all the procedures arising from accidents involving foreign vehicles inside or outside our borders
Even so, what we are best known for is being the Spanish National Bureau for the International Insurance Certificate (formerly the Green Card).
